2023/24 SEASON WINDUP AND AGM

The AGM will start promptly at 2.15pm and includes our trophy presentations.

The format of the AGM is a brief summary of the club's activities for 2023/24 before the award presentation.  Each coach is invited to present their team trophy and say a few words, this is also a great opportunity for teams to thank their coaches and team managers.   This will be followed by the election of the 2024/25committee.

Once the formalities are completed there will be games (including an opportunity to try barefoot bowls) and a sausage sizzle.  The bar will be open for the purchase of drinks with each player, team manager and coach receiving a token for a free drink (non-alcoholic for U18s).

AGM - 2024/25 COMMITTEE

Have you considered joining the Panthers Committee?  Volunteering is a great opportunity to get involved with the Club, support your kids and develop your own work skills.  With the 2024/25 Summer Season being our 40th we have a number of great projects to deliver starting in October 2024.

We will be updating our club kit, and you may have already noticed our new logo. After the 16 January storm forced the postponement of our 3x3 Summer Slam event, we have decided to run the event as the first of our birthday celebrations during the October School Holidays.  In addition, we are looking at ways to increase engagement with our members and to continue to support the development for our coaches.  To achieve these goals we need to have an active and engaged committee with enough committee members to share the load.

Wondering what you could bring to Panthers? We are looking for people who:

  • have an interest or skills in digital media to increase the level of engagement with our social media accounts (we would like to add an Instagram account) and website;

  • have a creative streak and flair for design to help create eyecatching digital graphics, help inform and guide the design of the new kit and supporting 40th anniversary promotional materials;

  • are familiar with Microsoft Word and have entry level admin and organisational skills to ensure that our meetings are properly minuted, committee members are kept informed and that all our decisions are transparent and available for members;

  • are passionate about basketball to help drive Club development;

  • enjoy coordinating events to support the delivery of our 40th anniversary events;

  • a passion for community - as we all can contribute to creating an inclusive, basketball environment.

Wondering what being a committee member can add to your life?

  • It is fun, inclusive committee - flexible and supportive of working individual strengths; and

  • Panthers is well recognised for its strong governance and operational framework;, so you can be assured that decisions are undertaken with consideration by all members of the committee; and

  • the committee has a number of great ideas that will add to the Panthers experience - if we have the people on board to help deliver them; and

  • volunteering is a great way to support your career, adding strong organisational and leadership skills and highlighting your sense of community and willingness to get involved.

We want to ensure that the Club continues past its 40th Anniversary - and this year is crunch time.   It is important that we have new members get involved so that there is time to provide a transition period, ensuring continuity and support.  Not wanting to be dramatic but looking at the current situation realistically and knowing that without new members, the current committee cannot deliver what is needed to ensure the ongoing running of the Club past March 2025.  If anyone would like to know more about being on the Committee and the Club's direction please feel free to contact Neridah on 0438 943 782 or email president@panthersbasketball.com.au.
